Yes, yes, yes – but just look slippy about it, as it is only on this weekend – ie until tomorrow Sunday 3rd February 2013.
This 5th edition of the show is bigger and better than ever, and for the serious aficionado, there are exhibitions and talks in galleries all over the city.
There are wonderful things to see.
There are – inevitably – a few weird and wonderful things to see.
There are also (a few) weird and (many, many) wonderful people to spot.
And the art ?
Eclectic, quirky, off the wall, thought provoking, and there are even some familiar, conventional pieces – the chance to get up close and personal with Picasso and Chagall is to good a treat to be missed.
Go, have fun wandering. The atmosphere is uber-cool and relaxed, and the art is genuinely stimulating.
Shreshta Rit Premnath’s “Sandbox” (above) fits into the Er…umm…well…OK…category for me.
As does “the ocean of your eye” (artist’s lower case) by Sudarshan Shetty.
Manish Nai’s Untitled is made of burlap…
Chagalls’ lovely 1961 “Les Printemps” (Spring) below
An unabashed shout out for my friend Valay Gada‘s whose gorgeous hibiscus is fabulous enough to make you want to take it home.
The main venue for the India Art Fair is the NSIC Exhibition Ground in Okhla.
It is open to the public from 2-8 on Saurday and from 11-6 tomorrow.
Just go !
