Feast your eyes on this beauty, dear reader.
It is the Dior Gold House in Bangkok’s Ploenchit district.

This utterly gorgeous confection opened in mid-December 2024 and I was lucky enough to visit less than a month later.
Currently back in Bangkok, I am planning on a revisit, so much did I enjoy my time there.
Firstly, how stunning and eye-catching is the building?

Just gorgeous.

When I rocked up in January, I was greeted by a bevy of charming, well-mannered, fluent English speaking young Thais who told me absolutely not to worry about not having pre-booked, and no there was no issue at all.
A lovely young man escorted me, but I thought it only fair to be upfront with him.

I told him that I was not intending to shop for Dior, gorgeous as everything looked, and I really just wanted to take photos, but I definitely didn’t want the poor kid to lose out on possible commissions (if that is indeed a thing) but he told me it was no problem at all, and he was happy to escort me around. Total win-win for me!

He was politely charming, and knowledgable about the interesting local art.

I enquired about the whole concept of what seemed to be a pop-up store, and was told that the location used to be a car park. Seems hard to believe, but it’s true:
The design of the building evokes the Dior flagship store on Avenue Montaigne in Paris, but it has been marevellously Thai-ified, with the shimmery gold effect.
And, of course, a cute tuk-tuk wrapped in Thai bamboo 🙂

No one in Dior knows me (sad to report!) and I told no-one there that I blog and write reviews.
Here’s a link to their website for you.
You are most welcome.
